Tong’s adjustable star cleaner offers gentle and effective removal of soil, clod and haulm from a wide range of root vegetables from potatoes and carrots to onions, swede, bulbs and more.

Designed to offer a heavy duty and reliable vegetable cleaning solution, the star cleaner from Tong is often specified after the vegetable infeed hopper to remove the bulk of the post-harvest debris prior to the vegetable grading or washing process. The star cleaner is also an ideal cleaning system to simply remove excess soil from crop prior to transport or storage and can be specified as your chosen vegetable cleaner within Tong mobile and static vegetable grading lines.

FIXED OR ADJUSTABLE SHAFTS

Tong’s star vegetable cleaner is available with a choice of fixed or adjustable star shafts, in a 4, 6 or 8 row configuration. Stars can be supplied in a range of specifications to suit your crop type, with standard options of 14 or 18 fingered stars, and standard widths from 1.2m to 2.4m wide. When specified as an adjustable cleaning unit, the gaps within the shafts are fully adjustable to suitable your specific crop cleaning and sizing needs.

GALAXY STAR CLEANER

The Tong Galaxy star separator offers effective removal of loose soil, small stones and clods from crop, working very efficiently in all crop conditions. Manufactured with 6 rows of heavy duty star shafts, the Galaxy star cleaner operates each shaft in pairs, incorporating hexagonal or round steel clod rollers, each fitted after every second row of stars, for effective stone and soil removal.

VERTICAM CLEANING SYSTEM

Tong’s verticam star cleaning system is built to offer effective soil and haulm separation, with a self-cleaning star separating unit. Manufactured to operate in pairs, each heavy duty star shaft is adjustable and configured with a shaft of 4 finger cleaning stars to the underside to keep the star system clean by removing and preventing soil build up between the star’s fingers. Due to its effective self-cleaning action, the verticam star cleaning system is particularly popular in heavy soil conditions.

BLUE INVERTER TECHNOLOGY

The Caretaker Mobile Vegetable Grader is built with Tong’s Blue Inverter Technology. Offering the very best energy efficiency, with all electric Inverter Variable Speed Drive.
